Located beside the B1411 - the road that gets my vote for the worst road in Britain. It gives any vehicle's suspension system a thorough workout. The pumping station is seen from the embankment that encloses the eastern side of the New Bedford River. The Hereward Way long distance path also reaches the riverbank at this point after heading across naked Fenland from Little Downham. The station itself was built in 1830 to act as a Fenland drainage system.
