Originally two houses of the late 18th century, but subsequently converted to commercial use by the addition of shopfronts to the ground floor. The whole range was Grade II listed https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1058978 & https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101058978-40-41-and-42-st-johns-hill-shrewsbury in 1972.
