From Sedbergh, through Dentdale, there is a complete series of this style of stone from S1 to S11. They were probably set up some time after 1802 when the road through Dentdale was added to the Sedbergh tollroad system which eventually covered 62 miles in all directions. Milestone 1 is on the south side near the 30mph sign and Leys House. Grade II listed 1384204.
