The signpost at the junction of Southwell Road and Weston Street is an unusual one: it was made by the Royal Label Factory. The factory was first established in 1874 and then spent most of its time in Stratford-on-Avon, where it produced many cast iron and alloy signs before moving to Buxton. It's good to see the sign has been looked after and treated to some fresh paint. Most of their output is being replaced with modern plastic versions over time.
