The milestone is located on the side of the road. Parish of Rainford (St Helens District). Carved stone post, Lancashire CC triangle design, erected by Lancashire County Council in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : TO / SOUTHPORT / 12 MILES : : Skelmersdale :: TO / WIGAN / 8 / MILES : Milestone Society National ID: LA_SPWG12
