Penfold postbox, St George's Plain, Great Yarmouth

This box has an interesting history, shown on the plaque on the adjacent pedestal. Originally located on King Street opposite Alma Road, it was replaced in 1969 and donated to Great Yarmouth Museums. Following restoration by Royal Mail engineers, it was returned to service at this location in 1994. A rare example of a public postbox in a public space which is not the property of Royal Mail.
