There is an Ordnance Survey benchmark Image on the near corner of this barn conversion left of a black downpipe. Ordnance Survey documents describe a benchmark levelled at 638.358 feet above Liverpool Datum during the 1845 Kendal to Thirsk 1GL Survey on the sill of a window in the left hand face of the barn. The surveyor's description was 'No. 6. Mark on window sill at North end of barn, opposite the Greyhound public-house ; 1.22 ft. above centre of road'
