Mosses and lichens

Image: © Richard Sutcliffe Taken: 22 Jul 2024

On one of the fence pillars outside flats on Firhill Road. The mosses have grown all over the concrete ball on top, whilst the lichens are colonising the flatter surface below. Images on Streetview show that there was no evidence of mosses on the ball in 2014, so this must represent about ten years of growth.
