The post-war development of Wivelsicombe brought former allotment land into becoming a business park. This brewery is a modern continuation of Wivelsicombe's historic and important brewing traditions. Aside from the old wooden vat the tablet records William Hancock's inaugural efforts to create beer from 1809; the eagle plaque is one of the town's arts trail.
