On the A39 in the town, opposite the B3191. An alternative view is Image It is opposite North Street which was called Shutgate Street in 1902, which would suggest there was a Toll Gate in the road. The B3191 was a turnpike so the most likely gate would have been at this junction or at the fork at the Mason's Arms.
