Aughrim Hill Triangulation Pillar

Trig pillar on Aughrim Hill, 2 miles west of Toome. Although close to the centre of Northern Ireland, the pillar is very low at only 30 metres above sea level. The flush bracket is numbered OSNIBM 3028 (I didn't enter the field for a close-up due to the cattle). When I visited two years previously, the pillar had almost been lost in vegetation - see Image - so full marks to the land owner for clearing and restoring it, though I suspect that the complaints from the cattle who are clearly using it as a scratching post may have had a greater influence than trig-baggers.
