Culvert under the M6

The northern reaches of the Lancaster Canal were severed from the main body of the canal by the construction in 1965 of culverts under the M6 at two points, and under the A65 dual carriageway. This culver is at the southern end of a clear 6 km section which runs north to Stainton which forms an attractive wildlife haven.
