Opened in 1899 by the Great Western Railway on the line from Quakers Yard (High Level) to Aberdare (High Level), this station closed in 1964. The suffix was added in 1924 when the GWR was grouped with the Taff Vale Railway and its low level station. See Image View north west towards Mountain Ash (Cardiff Road) and Aberdare. A later road building scheme has ensured that there is now no trace that a railway or station were ever here.
