Introduction

The photograph on this page of So new that it's not even open yet! by David Medcalf as part of the Geograph project.

The Geograph project started in 2005 with the aim of publishing, organising and preserving representative images for every square kilometre of Great Britain, Ireland and the Isle of Man.

In https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/7391707 I asked if the bridge ever got cleaned. A couple of years later it has not been cleaned, it has been replaced entirely! It opens in early May 2024 and only the handrails are wood, the rest is steel or composite long-lasting material. It is much wider than the old bridge (4 metres) to accommodate multi-use and people who stop to admire the view!
