Metal plate (replacement) attached to stone post by the B4211, in parish of Hanley Castle (Malvern Hills District), 200 yds. North of Hangmans Lane, on the verge close to road, on East side of road. Upton hands plate, erected by the County Council in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- {hand->} UPTON 2½ MILES {<-hand} MALVERN 4½ WORCESTER 8 Rivet benchmark on top. Grade II listed.
