This is the main A939 as it runs through Grantown on Spey. The High Street is lined with unique, independent and interesting shops and businesses selling everything from children’s clothes to whisky. A traditional Highland town on the River Spey on the northern edge of the Cairngorms National park, it is a fine example of a Georgian planned town – one of the first to be set out in this fashion in the 1760s.
