Carved stone post by the A573, in parish of WIGAN (WIGAN District), Warrington Road, Spring View, on old railway bridge parapet, North East side of road. Erected by the Warrington & Wigan turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- INCE TO WIGAN [MARKET PLACE] 2 MILES TO WARRINGTON [MARKET GATE] 10 MILES Carved benchmark on lower face. Milestone Society National ID: LA_WGWA02.
