The photo shows the vegetated maritime cliff slope below Pinnacle Point at Holywell, Eastbourne, with a sequence of rocks exposed at the shore, which includes Nodular Holywell Chalk underlain by Melbourn Rock. Geodiversity and biodiversity have strong links, but other factors, including aspect, microclimate, and the water retaining properties of the soil also influence the flora and fauna of the area either directly or indirectly.
