The skew arch was where the Low Beck (the name formerly given to Hol Beck in this stretch) ran under the railway. The beck is not visible now so must have been either culverted or diverted with the building of main roads in the area. At the time of writing, community groups are trying to bring the viaduct back into use as a walking route and/or green space.
