Many years since they saw a market. There are shops within the arched arcade which backs onto the Hazlitt Theatre and Corn Exchange. The sign on the right indicates the entrance to the Royal Star Arcade - a shopping centre. The Royal Star Hotel still exists under a new name at the far end of the street, backing onto a Wetherspoon pub housed in what was a bank.
