At this point I am off my route; the correct path being to my left here, but I cross this gate and soon realise and am bac on the correct line, with a little help fro the Ordnance Survey app on my Samsung. Two pheasants were startled to see me; one lifted off with a noisy cacophany after the other. Poor brainless birds...how do they survive the many perils out here alone?
