Crescent Lodge was built in 1855. It became a hotel and had four changes of name before being converted into luxury apartments. The hotel names were: Sherwood Hotel, Picketlaw Hotel, South Bay Hotel and Moorings Hotel. It has now reverted back to its original name of Crescent Lodge.
