An ancient hedge along a well-used footpath between playing fields at Golden Hill. Phoenix Hedge is one of the oldest hedges in the United Kingdom - it has eight different woody species and there is good scientific evidence that each one represents a 100 years of the hedge’s existence and part of it is constructed on the medieval method of a mound with a ditch. The Phoenix Hedge Preservation Group was formed in January 2014. The hedge also formed part of the parish boundary
