The upper part of this building at 38 College Green (above the City Job Shop) is designed in Arts and Crafts style. In 1904 it opened as "The Cabot Cafe" with wall paintings inside depicting some of the major events in the life of John Cabot, done by the local artist William Arthur Chase 1878-1944. It narrowly escaped destruction in the WW2 air raids.
