Old Milestone by the A525, Shropshire Lane

The Milestone is by the side of the road, 100m south of the junction with the A530, parish of Wrenbury cum Frith (Crewe and Nantwich District). Cast iron CCC1896, erected by the County Council in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- ASTON / 3 MILES / NANTWICH 7 :: CHESHIRE / 1896 / COUNTY COUNCIL :: WHITCHURCH / 4 MILES Maker:- : W H SMITH & CO / MAKERS / WHITCHURCH : Milestone Society National ID: CH_NWWC07
