St. John the Evangelist, Knotty Ash

Situated in the conservation area of the village of Knotty Ash, the foundation stone of St. John the Evangelist was laid on June 26th, 1834. It is a church full of history and it is said that there are more Lord Mayors buried here than any other in the city. The tower holds a bell which is inscribed – "God save the Church and Queen, A.R. 1707" and was one of the original bells of St Peter's in Church Street which was replaced in 1830.
