The Geograph project started in 2005 with the aim of publishing, organising and preserving representative images for every square kilometre of Great Britain, Ireland and the Isle of Man.

Plains lies in the 19th & early 20th century coal-mining area of west-central Scotland, There’s no mining activity now but these small coal hutches act as a reminder of days gone by.
