This is one of many woollen mills in this area that went out of business when other natural and synthetic fabrics became available. It used water power from the stream behind. The B4476 crosses this on a hump-backed bridge beyond the mill which has now been converted to other uses. The hill Pencoed-y-foel can also be seen.
