Part of a flock of these colourful birds on Medomsley Road in Consett on Sunday 12th November. There have been a lot of sightings of these winter visitors from Scandinavia and Russia in recent weeks, mainly in Scotland and eastern England. It looks like this could be an irruption year when large numbers come over the North Sea. The last big one was in 2012/13.
