Annie Leigh Browne (1851 – 1936) was a prominent figure in the realms of the Unitarian church, Suffrage Movement and nature. Although born in Bridgwater, Somerset, she spent most of her time in the Sid Vale. She is regarded as one of the most earnest campaigners and left her mark in many ways. She left a considerable amount of money in her will; one of the stipulations was to found a school close to her beloved chapel, and this was built in 1939. It is now the Leigh Browne Room and Hall.
