Sidmouth began playing the game to 'London Club Rules' - rugby union as we know it today - some time in the 1860s and played their games at Coburg Fields. After a few years the club was well supported and moved the short distance here to Blackmore Field, where they have remained to date. A stand was built not long after but it took until 1933-34 that changing rooms were built. The club today has a large number of players of all ages and is committed to developing them.
