The building with the tower is the George Hotel, which although mainly 18th century in date, may include parts of a 16th century structure. It has been altered during the 19th century (most notably the addition of the tower) and again in the 20th century. It is Category B listed https://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB34204. The building on the right with shop below and flats above is 18th century and also Category B listed https://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB34205.
