Cranemore is typical of the many residential roads which were built as part of Werrington's rapid expansion during the 1980s. The cul-de-sac is seen here from the footpath close to the Larks Green Play Area. Originally a separate village, Werrington was officially incorporated into the city of Peterborough in 1929. The older part in what was once the centre is still known as Werrington Village and has succeeded in retaining its village-like atmosphere despite extensive development and the encroachment of the city's urban sprawl.
