New milepost

On the B1257 Spring Hill north west of Stonegrave is another of the six replacement mileposts cast at Cleveland Corrosion Control in 2010 for the route from Malton to Helmsley. The original milepost cast at Mattisons of Bedale was struck be a vehicle and destroyed in 2009. It had been held in place by rods at the back keeping it firmly in the ground on the steep verge. The Grade II listing, 1315753 refers to the lost milepost.
