British Sugar Factory in Newark pictured from a nearby field entrance by the Great North Road. This factory celebrated its centenary in 2021 by which time it had processed almost 100 million tonnes of sugar beet from around 700 local farmers, producing 230,000 tonnes of sugar per campaign (season).
