Which seems to be variously known as Dean Street, Deans Street, or Dean's Street. Previously it is claimed that it was once called Deans Lane, and even as ‘Dead Man’s Lane’ as coffins were often carried along it to the church. It is actually named after the Dean of Westminster Abbey, once owner of this part of Oakham.
