Opened in 2023 by Network Rail on the former Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway line from Liverpool to Wigan, this station replaced Kirkby as the terminus of the Merseyrail network on this line. View northeast towards Rainford and Wigan. Merseyrail trains terminate at these two platforms. Local trains towards Wigan and Manchester leave from the other side of the fence in the centre of the image.
