Former site of the Sittingbourne War Memorial between the Recreation Ground and the Cemetery. The Cenotaph was unveiled on Sunday 22 May 1921, but re-sited in 1990 to Central Avenue, some 450m due north nearer the central High Street, at a cost of £23,000, leaving an empty circle of grass.
