I had parked here prior to starting my walk and as I was fully togged up and about to lock my car and set off a man in a large Shogun type 4x4 asked me to park elsewhere as I was in his neighbour's spot. I agreed to do this and did so, but then felt that I didn't like where he suggested and I ended up parking somewhere different altogether. Somewhere of my own choosing. I have never been asked to park elsewhere before. I complied as it could have developed into an argument which no one can win. I am sure we both appreciated that any road user can park anywhere reasonable at any time but I think he wanted a decent turning circle from his own driveway for his long and large 4x4 and if he had asked for this then I would have agreed, but he could see I was a non-resident and was taking his neighbours space and wanted me out of his hair. I deferred. He was courteous, polite and reasonable, and so was I. It is just one of those situations where afterwards you think to yourself "I should have been more assertive!" But with age comes wisdom and streets like this are not really intended for visiting walkers, tourists, day-trippers and any tom dick or harry....they are primarily for residents or visitors to those residents.... I got out and chalked it up to experience.
