This is the northern passenger station on the West Somerset Mineral Railway built primarily to transport iron ore from mines in the Brendon Hills to the harbour at Watchet. A passenger service was inaugurated in 1865 and lasted until 1898 when all traffic ceased. The building is now divided into apartments. Behind the Station House is the Star Inn.
