Cast iron post by the B6019, in parish of ALFRETON (AMBER VALLEY District), Church Street, by Market Place at junction of Chesterfield Street with George Street, by wall of ex George Hotel; near war memorial, on West side of road. Swanwick iron casting, erected by the Nottingham & Newhaven (1st District) turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : NOTT M 16 / MILES : : ALFRETON / PARISH : : ALFR N / 0 / MILES : Grade II Listed.
