Old tollhouse

The front part of Ashley House at the north end of Cockburnspath on the now unclassified but once main road (A1) may have been used as a tollhouse or built as a late 19C replacemment for a single storey cottage used by the Berwickshire Trust. There is a front door and there are small windows in each gable end. The top of the one on the north side can be seen above the wooden gate. This property is on the opposite side of the road to a small housing estate called Toll View.
