The health centre was built in 1976 on ground immediately east of the cottage hospital. Two extensions were added in 1994 to provide four additional consulting rooms and physiotherapy facilities, and additional car parking to the rear of the building. The health centre currently has seven consulting rooms plus physiotherapy, podiatry, dental and health education/visitor facilities. The health centre is T-shaped on plan and this shows the east side of the building, viewed from the Kelso Road. The Borders Primary Care Trust sign is out of date and should be replaced with an NHS Borders sign.
