Metal plate attached to stone post by the A595, in parish of BOLTONS (ALLERDALE District), The Wreay, South West of Red Dial, right of entrance to The Wreay, on North side of road. Carlisle red stone and curved plate, erected by the Cockermouth & Carlisle turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- CARLISLE 12 MILES WIGTON 2 MILES COCKERMOUTH 13½ MILES Carved benchmark on top. Milestone Society National ID: CU_CLCM12
