It is said "an Oak tree takes 200 years to grow it lives for 200 years then takes 200 years to die". I think this staggy old specimen is prematurely into the last third of its life. The Honeypot Lane Bridleway becomes a footpath at this point. Otherwise the local Council would have to provide a safe crossing for horses to the St Osyth Bridleway 26 on the far side of the A133 that is behind the hedge.
