An early Post Office in Beccles

In 1875 the post office moved to these premises from the Old Market. Details are scarce but Mr Stephen Thompson was the postmaster living here in 1881 with his wife, 2 sons, 3 daughters and 1 boarder. (1881 census) The earlier post office in The Old Market was where the pillar box still stands today. Image
