The Taston Brook, a very short tributary of the River Evenlode, starts from a number of springs in this and the neighbouring fields. The water comes up into a sort of sink in the shelter at the top of the pond. It looks very clean, but has loads of tiny shrimpy creatures living in it, so I wouldn't want to drink it.
