Historic Clock returns to London Road in Edinburgh

This wonderful old clock has been restored and repainted after being in storage for 15 years. It is part of the Trams to Newhaven project. Specialist clockmakers Smith of Derby have restored the clock, hand painted its ornate features in gold, repaired its Coat of Arms of Edinburgh and recast a new deer from aluminium. The clock began its life in 1857 on Waverley Bridge, then moved to the West End in 1896 and next it moved in 1955 onto the roundabout on London Road.
