Little remains of the late 18th century former Exciseman's House at Littlemill Whiskey Distillery. Production of whiskey ceased here in 1994. The building was B-listed in 1995 https://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB19656 but subsequent proposals to restore it as a museum, and have a hotel and housing on the rest of the site have all come to nothing. An arson attack in 2004 left it roofless. Planning permission was sought for demolition and granted in December 2022. It's still there as of September 2023. It is listed on the Buildings at Risk Register https://www.buildingsatrisk.org.uk/details/898807.
