This highly textural lane runs off Hoegate Street at the rear of a terrace on Citadel Road East. The granite kerbs and setts have escaped being totally tarmacced, only patched. Dorothy Ward Lane is displayed on a modern street name plate but is not named on large-scale OS mapping; it is not shown at all on a 2011 Philip's Street Atlas of Devon. Photo number 7581550.
